Joe Lenham

Dear CADS Calgary Family;Joe Lenham - CADS Calgary

We are deeply saddened to inform you that Joe Lenham passed away from injuries sustained in a climbing accident on August 5, 2016.  Joe was a mountain enthusiast.  He loved skiing, climbing and Mountain Biking.

Joe’s contribution to the Visually Impaired Group over the last 8 seasons will live on for many years with the students he worked for, and the instructors he worked with.He was a certified Level One Ski Instructor, committed to helping numerous students and fellow instructors over the course of his time with CADS.

In 2015 Joe wrote about his CADS experience saying “From my first experience, I was hooked on the challenge of working with Visually Impaired students, but I’ve also take the opportunity to work with several groups.  Teaching adaptive skiing is a two way process; we were always learning from our students while we’re teaching them.  We build trust in our teaching partnerships through communication, perseverance and innovation”.

Joe truly loved his time with CADS Calgary and his absence will be felt deeply by all of us who had the pleasure to know him.

A celebration of life ceremony will take place on Thursday August 18th, 2016 starting at 2 pm at Eden Brook Funeral Home, located at 24223 Township Road 242.  There will be a reception after.
