About the Registration Process

CADS Calgary runs one series of skiing/snowboarding lessons each year, typically in January and February. Because we are a volunteer-based organization, students are accepted into our program on a first-come, first-served basis as long as the student can be matched with a suitable instructor and/or equipment. Registration does not necessarily guarantee placement in the program. Students must register in person for assessment and instructor matching purposes.

Student Fees 2016

CADS Calgary is able to provide lessons at a significantly reduced rate thanks to generous donations, sponsorships and fundraising efforts that offset actual program costs. Equipment rental fees are set by Canada Olympic Park and we greatly appreciate the reduced rate at which they are provided.

Fees for the 2017-2018 season TBC

  • Membership — $40.00
  • Lesson Fee — $350.00
  • Equipment Rental — $104.00 (Youth — 6 – 17 years)
  • Equipment Rental — $128.00 (Adult — 18+)
  • Helmet Rental — $48.00
  • Mountain Ski Club — $450.00

Mountain Ski Club

The Mountain Ski Club is a separate CADS program offered outside of the Learn-to-Ski/Snowboard evening lesson series. Students who enroll in the club take part in four evenings of skiing at COP plus four full day trips to Nakiska. Program fees for the 2015 ski club have not yet been confirmed.

Student Requirements & Forms

Students must be six years or older by September 1, 2015 for enrollment in our upcoming program. Registration forms will be available to print off from this page shortly, if you would like to fill them out ahead of time and bring them with you to registration. Copies of the forms will also be available at the registration session.

What to Expect on Registration Day…

Our student registration events tend to be very busy. Although we try to process registrations as quickly as possible, please come prepared for long line-ups and waiting times. All students are required to meet with a ski school supervisor from the student’s designated group (blind, deaf, sit-ski, learning disabled, developmentally delayed, etc.). This allows the supervisor to accurately assess a student’s individual abilities and capabilities to determine what equipment the student will require and to match them with an appropriate instructor(s). Because students may grow and change from one year to the next, even returning students are required to meet with their supervisor in person at registration.
