Volunteer with CADS

All you need is the ability to ski or snowboard green runs safely and in control, a positive attitude and your desire to help make a difference!

Our goal is to teach people with special needs (both physical and cognitive) how to ski or snowboard using adaptive means so they can participate in one of Canada’s most popular winter pastimes. Volunteer opportunities with CADS Calgary include:

  • ski and snowboard instructors
  • ski and snowboard instructor aides
  • on-hill (non-skiing) helpers
  • indoor helpers
  • Board committee members (fundraising, special events, marketing, etc.)

We welcome new volunteers and are confident your experience with us will be a rewarding one filled with good times and good friends. With a nominal time commitment from November to February, you can be part of one of the most active adaptive skiing programs in Canada!

Why volunteer with CADS? We offer…

  • free pre-season instructor training
  • an extensive CADS certification program
  • opportunities for CSIA certification
  • ongoing adaptive skiing/boarding teaching clinics with highly qualified CSIA instructors
  • regular ski improvement clinics
  • volunteer appreciation events and incentives
  • special discounts and offers with your CADS membership
  • lots of camaraderie in a motivating, supportive atmosphere
  • the chance to help others experience the thrill of skiing or snowboarding!

Our team-based approach means that you can count on receiving ongoing support, advice and ideas from your fellow CADS members as needed. Many of our volunteers return year after year because of the rewarding experience and special camaraderie CADS offers.

While our greatest need is for on-hill instructors, other volunteer opportunities are available, too – talk to us! For more information about volunteering with CADS Calgary, email volunteer@cadscalgary.ca.
